At Peace in Barred Island Harbor
We have spent the night in an unnamed harbor we will call Barred Island Harbor. Brio has been here before. But that was a few years ago. And this spot has been described in some older cruising guides written in the 1990s and before. Those give this spot 5 stars of beauty and maybe 2 stars of protection. Don't go here in a storm. This is not a hurricane hole!

You can see the label Barred Island. The name covers the anchorage where we stayed last night (9/11-12). Coming in is tricky. You have to approach from the northwest and aim for the number "19." Then head south and find a place to anchor. Here is the view once you do anchor.
The island to the east shows signs of habitation with the tell-all old dock on its shore.

We "reached" here from Blue Hill Bay via the Eggemoggin Reach, a famous body of water that runs northwest from the bottom of Blue Hill Bay.

The upper pencil points to Eggemoggin Reach. The lower pencil points to approximately where Barred Island "Harbor" is.
Today we will motor around Islesboro over to Belfast for the night.
Cheers,
Andiamo
