Pulpit Harbor: The Roost of Penobscot Bay
Along the top of Vinalhaven lies North Haven. There is a keyhole of an indent along that shore called Pulpit Harbor. This seems like a fitting last overnight, our last "anchorage, or mooring, for the Bay before we went further west to Muscongus Bay, Pemaquid Point, the Damariscotta River and Christmas Cove.
Entering Pulpit Harbor requires a repect for the rock itself. It is a sanctuary for birds, especially for eagles. At least, eagles have been spotted there.
The wind was out of the south and so we were immediately sheltered. At this time of year, there are many moorings availbable to be picked up, and so that is what we did.
Here is peaceful Pulpit.
Overnight, the fog crept in on the proverbial cat's paws. It shrouded the sunrise.
In an hour's time, the new northwest wind began to sweep out the fog and humidity. It was time to start our next leg to Christmas Cove.

As we left the harbor, the view to the northwest of the Camden Hills was beautiful.
