The Town Liar
Known to Brio from a few years ago, the Town Liar is a featured lobster boat in Jonesport Harbor. The captain is iconic, complete with the "Bert 'n' I" dialect. Of course, we were charmed when we first met the fellow on the town dock. Here's our brief encounter today.
Look carefully at the artwork of the boat. You will see a well-endowed mermaid featured. Is she real? Was she actually caught in a lobster trap? Did our lobsterman only boast of her landing on his boat? Only he knows for sure.
Welcome to downtown Jonesport with her bustling town dock. Low tide bares more than just the mud at the dock's pilings.
Without this barrier of rock, the harbor would be wide open to raging seas during a storm.
Life might seem "thin" in Jonesport, but the sense of humor of the lobstermen carries the residents through the world.
